1- Social Media and Marketing Specialist – New York, NY (Salary: $70,000-75,000)
Position Overview
Salary range is for candidates based in the New York City Metropolitan area. Outside of the NYC metro, we differentiate salaries based on location.
It is customary for entry-level candidates to join Women’s World Banking at the lower half of the range to leave room for candidates to grow, expand, and develop in the role. It is common for starting salaries to fall in the mid-point of the range for more experienced candidates. We negotiate actual salaries with final candidates based on their exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
This role is not eligible for hire in Colorado, USA.
Position Summary
The Marketing and Social Media Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Brand, Marketing and Communication (BMC) team in the operational management and execution of the Brand Strategy and Integrated Marketing Strategy. In addition, you will support digital marketing, producing content to be used across campaigns and in our social media channels. KPI reporting and performance analysis will be key components to support the BMC team in measuring outcomes and driving continuous improvement through the activities delivered.
Roles and Responsibilities

- Deliver reporting to support key planning and execution for BMC strategy including event engagement and editorial board content management
- Reporting for regional and business line planning for marketing and communication requirements

- Create in-house designs and repurpose content for different audiences based on campaign objectives and outcomes

- Create in-house designs to ensure a compelling and consistent brand presence

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
- 5-7 years of proven experience in a junior communications or marketing role
- Experience in financial inclusion or an adjacent space highly preferred
- Strong design skills; you will create on-brand static graphics and GIFs
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and reporting. Ideally experience in the use of Salesforce and Sprout or similar customer management systems and social media management platforms
- Strong project management skills and experience in related technology systems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

2- Policy Advocacy Director, South Asia – Delhi (Preferable) or Mumbai, India
Position Overview
Position Summary
Women’s World Banking is looking for a talented Policy Advocacy Director to lead our government engagement and policy influence work for India and South Asia. The role will be based in either Mumbai or Delhi, with a primary focus on India, and a secondary focus on other select markets in South Asia like Bangladesh. Policy Advocacy Director will join a forward thinking, high-performing and collaborative team focused on delivering innovative customer experiences, banking services, products and influencing policy to create business and customer value for low-income women.
This position operates within the South Asia regional structure, reporting to the Regional Head, based in South Asia. The role also requires close collaboration with the Global Director of Policy and Advocacy, based in the United Kingdom.
The ideal candidate will have a successful record of operations within the financial services, economics or technology sectors with a sector expertise of government engagement and policy influence using advisory inputs and research-based evidence. She or he will also understand and be able to manage influence on a broader scale, with relations in Government, regulatory bodies, industry associations and other relevant organizations and stakeholders. She or he will be passionate about women’s economic empowerment and eager to serve as a thought leader in the financial inclusion community. We are looking for assertive and self-motivated person who is eager to seek out opportunities and co-create with colleagues across the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management and Thought Leadership
- Review market stakeholder maps identifying key policymakers, policy environment, points of view, relevant messages, and engagement approaches
- Formulate and refresh Policy strategy for the region, including market stakeholder maps identifying key policymakers, environment, points of view, relevant messages , and engagement approaches
- Actively identify emerging and significant policy issues and engage with government and private sector stakeholders on issues of importance
- Monitor political and social events in India/South Asia and work with cross-functional teams to leverage opportunities or mitigate risks
- Identify and establish relationships with the central bank, other relevant policymakers and regulators, industry associations & leaders, trade associations, and other influencers in line with country/regional strategy
- Participate in regional conversations on digital financial inclusion, Digital Public Infrastructure, and economic empowerment, highlighting the gender perspective
- Working with the Advisory and research team members to synthesize project learnings and field findings to identify opportunities for different stakeholders (primarily Government) to take defined action to advance women’s financial inclusion
- Present information clearly and organized, both internally and externally. Outputs may include webinars, panels at conferences, executive-level briefings, internal presentations, policy briefings, proposals, and more.
Policy Advisory and Influence
- Working with the Regional Head of South Asia and Advisory team to set up and operationalize relevant policy advisory projects/ program
- Working with the Regional Head of South Asia and Vice President of Network & Development to identify relevant government stakeholders and create a scope that talks to the overall India strategy and also considers funding feasibility
- Identify opportunities for evidence-based policy influence within policymaking institutions
- Liaison with the Global Director of Policy and Advocacy to align Women’s World Banking’s policy position for India and other key markets in South Asia (especially Bangladesh)
- Facilitate the development of women-centered policy by policymakers and regulators
- Work with the Global Leadership and Diversity team (L&D) to provide policy advisory to India-based regulators/policy makers participating in L&D training programs
- Manage policy interactions to reach policymakers with the right messaging systematically and strategically to drive action.
- Engage relevant policymakers and local stakeholders in meetings, events, and seminars through media and regional forums
- Track and document activities/outputs to measure and improve program performance per Women’s World Banking’s policy and advocacy M&E frameworks
- Create policy papers and positions on critical regional topics using advisory and data-driven insights
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline – Finance/Economics/Social Science/Public Policy
- 15+ years of relevant work experience in work related to financial services, policy, public affairs and/or advocacy, women’s empowerment, relevant government consulting, or non-profit, with deep expertise and working knowledge of financial inclusion/MSME and policy & regulatory landscapes across India
- Intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving in research
- Successful track record working within a diverse, multicultural global organization, collaborating with remote colleagues, and delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to travel within India and occasionally to other South Asian countries or our global markets (if required).

3- Regional Policy Director, Africa – Africa-based, Kenya or Nigeria preferred
Position Overview
Position Summary
The Policy Director for Women’s World Banking Africa will be a strategic leader responsible for driving policy initiatives across the African continent. This role will involve shaping and influencing public policy, supporting implementation of financial sector policies and fostering partnerships towards advancing women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic Policy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive policy and advocacy strategy aligned with Women’s World Banking’s mission and goals for Africa.
- Identify key policy issues affecting women’s financial inclusion and advocate for policy changes at national and regional levels.
Partnership and Coalition Building:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and civil society organizations.
- Represent Women’s World Banking at policy forums, conferences, and meetings to advocate for women-centric financial policies and practices.
- Lead campaigns and initiatives to raise awareness and drive change on critical issues affecting women’s economic empowerment.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with relevant organizations, networks, and coalitions to amplify advocacy efforts and drive systemic change.
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct research and analysis on policy trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in financial inclusion and women’s economic empowerment.
- Provide insights and recommendations to inform advocacy strategies and organizational priorities.
- Develop policy positions and recommendations to influence decision-makers and policy makers including regulators and governments.
Thought Leadership:
- Work with internal functions to develop and oversee the creation of advocacy materials, including briefing papers, policy briefs, and communication strategies.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure effective communication of policy positions and advocacy messages through various channels, including media, publications, and social media
Policy Advisory:
- Work closely with regulators and policy makers to support the implementation of policy initiatives and programs including providing capacity building support on policy issues related to women’s financial inclusion.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Work closely to monitor and evaluate the impact of policy efforts and policy changes on women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment.
- Prepare reports and presentations on advocacy activities, outcomes, and recommendations.
Team Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with the Women’s World Banking Africa team to ensure alignment of policy efforts with organizational goals and strategies.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to team members involved in policy and advocacy work.
Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the budget for policy and advocacy activities.
- Work closely with Fundraising team to identify and secure funding and resources needed to support policy efforts.
Required Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Development, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in policy development, advocacy, or a related field, with a focus on financial inclusion and economic empowerment for women and youth
Skills:
- Experience working with policy makers, regulators and policy setting bodies
- Strong understanding of policy processes, regulatory environments, and advocacy strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior and diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in managing advocacy campaigns and influencing policy changes.
- Ability to analyze complex issues, synthesize information, and provide actionable recommendations.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of women’s financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and gender equality issues in Africa.
- Familiarity with the political and regulatory landscape across African countries.
Languages: Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in French or other African languages is an advantage.

- Internal Collaboration: Foster collaboration with other departments to ensure alignment on advocacy efforts.
- Identify Opportunities: Pinpoint at least two quick-win advocacy opportunities to demonstrate immediate impact and build momentum.
